***Wye Championship*** - Now November 10th 2019.

This years River Wye Championship has now been rescheduled for November 10th. I have made contact with many entrants but still need others to contact me by phone, text, messenger or email advising me whether they are able to fish on this date. I am aware that this date may clash with the Riverfest final and is not ideal, but if for any reason you are unable to fish the Wye on this date then you will have the choice of a refund of the match fee(£30) or of having a guaranteed place in the 2020 event. It is likely that the match will have a reduced number of entrants this year which will have a knock on effect on the prizes awarded. Arrangements for the match are the same as originally advised but sections may change. 

The river will be closed to all anglers on Saturday 9th November.

Wye Championship 2019 - POSTPONED

***Wye Championship***- UPDATE-MATCH POSTPONED

With the River Wye expected to peak in Hereford on Sunday morning at over 5metres, it is with regret that the match will have to be postponed. It will now hopefully take place on Sunday 10th November. Anglers who were due to fish on Sunday should hold on to their tickets as they will be valid for the re arranged date. All details for the match currently remain the same, I just need to confirm with the Rugby Club that they can host us again. Anyone who is unable to attend on the new date has a choice of either having a refund of the match fee, or carrying over their ticket to the 2020 match where they will have a guaranteed place in that match. Anyone on the current reserve list will be offered a place on the new date if a space becomes available. Those that have had to cancel prior to the original match will be added to the end of the reserve list. Sorry for any inconvenience and financial burden this has caused but the weather is outside my control and I am afraid that conditions on this river can and do change dramatically over a relatively short period of time. Hopefully I will see the majority of you on November 10th.

The Met Office have issued a Severe Weather Warning "WEATHER WARNING ⚠️ | The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for heavy rain across #Herefordshire & #Wales on Friday & Saturday.

River levels are expected to rise significantly by Saturday evening with levels on the River Wye & Lugg likely to rise to their highest levels this year.

Up to 40-50mm of rain is likely to fall quite widely with up to 120mm possible over the hills of Wales."

Match Booking 20/10/19.

Members are reminded that the Alan Reynolds Memorial Match takes place this Sunday 20th October. The Belmont section of the river is booked for this match from the pumphouse downstream on both banks.
