River Wye to Re Open for Fishing.

Now that water temperatures have returned to normal summer levels and some rain is forecast, the Association has decided to lift the no fishing ban on all stretches of the River Wye which we control with effect from Monday13th August 2018.
Water levels are still extremely low and common sense is required when handling and releasing fish, especially barbel. The use of keepnets is not recommended and all fish should be given ample time to recover before being released back into the river. Barbel may take up to15 minutes to recover fully so please take your time when holding them in the water.
The situation will be reviewed depending on any water temperature increases and water levels.
Your understanding has been much appreciated during the ban but fish welfare must come first if we are to preserve the fantastic fishing that our waters have to offer.
